Alternative Rockers CONWAY Talk To Us About “Something Wicked”

Chicago Illinois is the home base for Pavement Entertainment signee, Conway, a five piece band that takes their listeners back to the late 90’s and the early part of the 2000’s. With a sound similar to that of Green Day and Alien Ant Farm, Conway delivers a fun-filled blast to the past with their latest release “Something Wicked”.

This alternative rock band out of Chicago, Illinois got their start in 2017. The five-piece ensemble looks to carry the ‘punk rock’ torch into the next decade with “Something Wicked”.

Mind you, I’m not the biggest punk fan in the world but I do like music that catches me off-guard, which is exactly what this album did. Beginning with the intro tune ‘Missed Me’ which has that driving with the top down sound, Conway has a way of filling your earholes with a wanting more vibe.

Whether I enjoyed the opening track or not, there was no way that I wasn’t going to key up the second song, just for the curious title. ‘Six Feet of Dirt Would Look Good on You’ as it turned out, proved to be another catchy tune that had me tapping my foot.

Other tunes such like ‘Suicide Party’, ‘One More Shot’ and others carried the 10-song album through to the finale, ‘Surprise Me’.

Conway consists of founders Aidan Hargis (lead vocals) and Riley Allen (guitarist) as well as Mitch De Biase (bass), Austin Van Johnson (drums) and Jake Dillon (guitar and keyboard).

“Something Wicked” proved to be full of catchy lyrics with a ton of slick hooks and velocious drumming that was a surprising delight to listen to. As previously mentioned, I’m not big into punk rock, but Conway may have me rethinking my position on the genre. I’ll give it a 7, with a high recommendation of checking it out for your own thoughts.

Until next time this is Big L saying ‘keep those horns up and rock on!! \m/ \m/
