February 24, 2023 (Columbus, OH)

This was a hot ticket event, and selling out the remaining tickets shortly after the doors opened was the affirmation. Four-Hundred fans, friends, and family were packed into the A&R Music Bar to be the first of the public to hear the new songs South of Eden had prepared.

What the crowd was in store for was an hour and a half of new classic style rock presented in a perfectly constructed setlist.

Opening up with The Talk, these four lit up the stage with this hard driving single from 2020. Hurricane was second on the list, keeping a blistering pace with this throwback to their origin.

As they were getting ready to add guest guitarist Jon Suh to their next song, they ran into a small snag with signal, but as true professionals, Justin and Tommy ripped into an instrumental snippet of The James Gang’s Funk #49 to fill any dead air.

They were now ready to cover one of Ehab’s idols, the late great Chris Cornell. Audioslave’s Cochise was next on the menu. Ehab approached the front of the stage and stated “I wanna see you guys go fuckin’ crazy, right fuckin’ now!” This really got the heads bobbing and bodies moving throughout the room as they nailed the song and performance.

It was time for some songs from the EP Table of Four. Ehab’s powerful range was showcased the new nostalgic original Remember When really going the distance with his high register vocals. Another new song was one called Fly. Ehab stated “This was influenced by shit that happened two or three years ago. Feels like a lifetime now.Fly featured and acoustic-esque opening with a melodic electric tone weaving things together as it kicks in hard pretty quickly. A medium paced track with a tinge of grunge feel really gave this song an earthy feel.

About mid way through their set Ehab was in control of the stage solo. He presented a medley of sorts, featuring Heart’s Crazy on You and Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters among others. This showcased not on his influences, but also the lighter side of his vocals as well on some songs.
