DIAMOND REXX Talks About Their Latest Album “Psych Ward” With Big L!

It’s a rare thing to see a band be around for 35 years. It’s even more rare when than band hasn’t hit superstar status. Such is the case with Chicago’s, Diamond Rexx, but that fact doesn’t mean that they haven’t had success. DR was formed in 1985 by Nasti Habits (vocals) and S.S. Priest (lead and rhythm guitar) and immediately met success. Just four months after their first live show the band signed a management deal with Pacific Entertainment, who then got the band signed to Island records. Habits and Priest were joined by Dave Andre (bass) and Johnny Cottone (drummer) prior to the release of their debut album “Land of the Damned” in 1986.

Move forward 35 years and the original quartet is back together and ready to rock like never before. They recently signed on with Pavement Entertainment to drop their first album in over 18 years. ‘Psych Ward’ was released on August 28th via Pavement Entertainment and Diamond Records. The album is full of good old fashion rock-n-roll with heavy riffs and powerful vocals just like it should be.

Rock Line Magazine and yours truly had the privilege of talking with vocalist Nasti Habits which can be heard by clicking on the link below.
