Orange County California’s band, Bleed The Sky, just released their newest video for the tune “The Parasite”. The song features the newest member of the band, vocalist Monte Barnard, as well as guest vocalist, Mark Hunter of Chimaira fame.

“I’m beyond excited to join forces with the legendary institution that is Bleed the Sky,” Barnard says. “Their music impacted me as part of a movement that was integral to my musical coming of age. And frankly, I’m still pinching myself. The opportunity to create and add to their legacy is one I don’t take lightly.”

Barnard got into the business as part of the Northern California Death Metal scene. His first taste of performing came in 2014 with a band called Alterbeast in 2014. He remained a stalwart in the scene Barnard used his talents to tour and fill in on vocals with such bands such as Thy Art Is Murder, The Kennedy Veil and Fallujah. He also serves as the front man Emberthrone on Seek & Strike Records, as well as Lesser Animal.

Hunter, a Parma Heights, Ohio native, also shared his excitement of the collaborative work he did with BTS.

“I am thrilled to lend my voice to the powerful sound of Bleed The Sky’s ‘The Parasite’,” the longtime lead vocalist of Chimaira said. “It’s an honor to collaborate with such talented musicians and be a part of creating something truly unforgettable.”

Bleed The Sky teamed up with director Eric DiCarlo (@ericdicarlo41) at Square Up Studios to direct the video. He is known for his work with Attila, Chelsea Grin and Lorna Shore. Additional cinematography was done by Karl Whinnery of Hot Karl Productions and Ben Schigel of Spider Studios.

“‘The Parasite’ is about humanity’s growing addiction to distraction from the ever-encroaching horrors that occupy just outside the periphery of our day-to-day existence. We constantly seek to ween and cope ourselves from the harsh truths we should be addressing head on. By remaining ignorant and distracted, we only tighten the seal on our inevitable doom,” says the band.

Bleed The Sky, formed in 2003, released a pair of albums (“Paradigm in Entropy” (2005) and “Murder the Dance” (2008) on Nuclear Blast Records. After a brief hiatus, the band once moved to Art Is War Records to drop “This Way Lies Madness” in 2020. They also churned out the single ‘The Devil Will See You Now’ in the same year.
