Combichrist at The King of Clubs Columbus Ohio

I made the first trip to Columbus since the pandemic started to catch the Combichrist tour. With the closing of the Alrosa Villa, The king of clubs has become the hottest spot to catch some of your favorite bands. Heartsick was ready to hit the stage as I arrived, and what a way to get your night started than with Michigans hardest working metal band. Heartsick is continuing to grow with the bands latest release Cinco and the new video Animal Instinct. Alfonso Civile’s Vocals continue to be strong and powerful, making you just fell energized. The entire band just has chemistry that makes them a band you can see over and over again.

Next up the mighty King 810, King started the night heavy and brutal with the song Alpha & Omega. I have had the pleasure of seeing this band live several times and have yet to see a bad performance. 810 hits the stage with heavy guitar riffs and blasting drum beats, and gives you a 100 percent music experience. David Gunns vocals are pure metal poetry and literally make’s your insides shift!! Eugene Gill spins around onstage pumping out bass cords you can feel in your chest. If you have never seen 810 live get your ass out and at least experience the show once, you will not be disappointed.

Combichrist hit the stage around 11 pm smoke began to fill the stage as Andy LaPlegua got the set started. Jamie Cronander is temporarily  filling in on this tour run, and did a great job. Dane White handles the duties behind the drum kit and man is he fun to watch play live. White even disappeared at times in the darkness and the smoke walls hovering over the stage. If you came to this show wanting to hear old school Combichrist, you got what you wanted, a well mixed setlist. LaPlegua’s vocals are fantastic, and the absence of live music for over a year hasn’t phased his performance one bit. You will have one more chance to see the band play in Ohio, with a show in Akron on November 6th with guest Davey Suicide, Modern Mimes and Akrons own Two Dead Roses.

I also wanted to Thank The King of Clubs and the entire staff for making my first visit to the venue a very memorable evening….
