Big L Chats with Hard Rockers NEVERWAKE
NeverWake is a hard rock band based out of Pittsburgh, PA. However lead vocalist and guitarist, Johnny DiCarlo, hails from nearby Steubenville, Ohio. He has a rich traditional music background which starts with his father, also named Johnny.
“Misguided”, the bands fourth release is finished and ready for release but with the current state of things in the nation and worldwide the date has been delayed. The 6-song EP, which was produced by Disturbed bass player, John Moyer, recently saw the premier of the video for the single “Call Out My Name.” The song itself has been seeing momentum as it sits among the top 50 on several music charts after earning a spot on the airwaves both in the states and internationally.
DiCarlo is joined by Justin Sanford on the six strings as well as vocals while Marcus Giannamore (drums) and George Scott (bass) form the rhythm section. Like DiCarlo and Sanford, the duo also adds to the vocals.
A member of the Melodic Revolution Record group and Atomic Cowboy Productions, NeverWake is coming off a year that they played noted US festivals such as Carolina Rebellion, Heart of Texas Rockfest and Rockfest in Wisconsin.
I recently had the privilege to have a phone chat with DiCarlo in which we covered the band’s new music, their cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller and several other subjects. That interview can be heard below.
We here at Rock Lines Magazine hope you enjoy the interview. We want to remind you to take care of yourself and the loved ones around you during these troublesome times. We’ll get through this if we all work together. Our promise to you is that we’ll keep bringing you the rock-n-roll headlines whether it’s local or on the national level. Hopefully we keep you entertained and thinking positive.
Until the next time, this Big L saying “Keep those horns up and rock on!! \m/ \m/
