PSYCHOSTICK Bring Their Antics to Austin
May 19, 2023 (Austin, Texas)
Just a few days after the 20th anniversary of their debut album We Couldn’t Think of a Title, the eccentric rockers known as Psychostick headlined in Austin, Texas.
When looking through Psychostick’s discography it’s clear they’ve never taken themselves too seriously. With song titles such as “Beer!“, “Obey the Beard“, and “Jagermeister Love Song” how could you?

The goal of this band from the beginning was simply to laugh and have fun with their music. This recipe has proven successful over their 20 year career, as they have garnered an impressive cult following.
Members of this following packed in front of the stage at Come And Take It Live! to witness Psychostick perform these songs they’ve come to love.
The band members took the stage outfitted in attire as fun and ridiculous as the songs they perform. The lead vocalist, Rob Kersey, wasted no time getting a laugh from the crowd. The first few minutes of the show were equal parts fun, hilarious, and down right confusing.

I’ll spare the details of the bit in order to not ruin the surprise for those who plan to see Psychostick on their upcoming tour and festival run.
While a Psychostick show may involve plenty of funny moments, it is much more than just a stand-up routine. Every member uses their time on stage to prove just how talented they are with their respective instruments.
To start the music off they opened up with a fan favorite, a cover of Kenny Loggins “Danger Zone“. In no time, the crowd was engaged and all singing along to the iconic lyrics.
Every song they play brings it’s own unique element. Some songs are originals, some covers, and some parodies of artists ranging from pop singers to metal bands.
To wrap up the night, the band took the stage for their encore and down tuned their instruments in front of a cheering crowd. After belting out the question “Do you like heavy?”, they played their blistering track simply titled “So. Heavy.“.
Whether you’re looking to laugh, rock out, or just chug beer with your friends, a Psychostick show has a little something for everyone.
We will be catching up with these guys again in August at Summer Ends Festival in Ohio. You can also check out their current full tour schedule HERE.
