Following the release of the explosive comeback single “Run For Your Life” in February, Beasto Blanco continue forging ahead with another powerhouse track, “Lowlands,” released this Friday May 3 along with a vampiric video that gives total “Queen of the Damned” vibes.
At the heart of the anthemic number (produced by Chris Harms / Lord of the Lost) is a song about self-worth. As frontwoman Calico Cooper shares, “’I wrote ‘Lowlands’ about a person who always tried to make me feel small, like I was never doing enough and should feel lucky to have them. I think we’ve all felt that in relationships, jobs, or with our families. So I wanted it to ignite a fire under people to ask… ‘What makes this other person so great in the first place?’ Chances are, it’s you!”
Adds band co-founder Chuck Garric, “’Lowlands’ is us getting back to our roots. But what we really wanted to explore is a different facet of our sound. The song is a hybrid of swampy roots-based rock’n’roll with a dirty electronic feel. Chris Harms did an amazing job creating this powerful anthem for us.”

The song is the latest sample of the band’s new album KINETICA, coming July 20 via COP International Records. It’s an album that aspires to capture the visuals, energy, love, sex, sweat, robots, and raw animalistic essence that defines the band. The album will be available in both vinyl and CD formats.
Beasto Blanco features the electrifying collaboration of Nashville-based shock rockers Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper) and high priestess Calico Cooper, delivering an instant knockout blow. Now in its 32nd year, COP International’s expanding roster of artists includes Stabbing Westward, Azam Ali, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Cassandra Complex, Blackcarburning, and Beasto Blanco. The label reached a turning point in 2019, teaming up with legendary producer John Fryer to form a production company under the COP International umbrella. Fryer is producing and engineering the majority of the forthcoming COP catalog and also working as A&R in helping to select appropriate acts. “The level of craftsmanship, artistic talent and meticulous attention to detail is what sets John’s work a world apart,” says COP International founder Christian Petke. “Our philosophy is quite simple: Find exceptional talent, don’t limit ourselves or the artists, and build a tribe based on the excellence of the releases.
